Arx Asdrubalis - City rediscovered: a view to Cartagena's Roman past

This exhibition displays 100 archaeological pieces including Tuscan, Ionic and Corinthian, sculptures, items, paintings, coins, small tools and pottery associated with everyday life. All recovered in recent years during the excavations on the southern slope of the hill of the Molinete de la ciudad. Entry is free. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00-18:00 and Sunday 10:00-14:00. At the temporary exhibition rooms of the Museo del Teatro Romano and the Palace Hall which are around 50 meters from each other.

An archaeological exhibition of the Jewish culture in the late Middle Ages, found in what is known as the Jewish quarter of Lorca which is located in the castle precinct. On display are pieces including glass lamps that were used to illuminate the synagogue, coins, ceramics, tiles, manuscripts, fragments from the plasterworks decorating the Aron ha-Kodesh and fragments of Hanukiahs, the oil lamps used during the Hanukkah festival. The stalls are selling a wide variety of handicrafts and goods and only companies and individuals belonging to the Union of Craft Workers will be able to exhibit thus ensuring a high quality. Demonstrations will also take place showing traditional arts and crafts almost forgotten.
